What is A2 70 / A2 80 Stainless Steel Hex Bolt
Stainless steel hex bolts are very important parts in many projects due to their robustness, endurance, and protection from deterioration. The two widely-used grades of stainless steel hex bolts are A2-70 and A2-80.
A2-70 Stainless Steel Hex Bolt:
A2-70 is a metric stainless steel bolt formed from a mixture of AISI 304. The designation “A2” stands for the steel combination that consists of roughly 18% chromium and 8% nickel. In addition, figure “70” is indicative of the least tensile force of the bolt, which is 700 megapascals (MPa).
A2-70 bolts provide protection from corrosion and rust. Therefore, they can be used safely in a range of conditions, even outdoors and in places frequently exposed to water or other substances. Furthermore, they are unsusceptible to oxidation or discoloration. They are often put to work in construction, automobile engineering, maritime purposes, and other industrial subsidiaries.

A2-80 Stainless Steel Hex Bolt:
A2-80 is another metric grade stainless steel bolt, also made from AISI 304 stainless steel. The key difference is the higher tensile strength it offers. The “80” in A2-80 indicates a minimum tensile strength of 800 MPa, making it stronger compared to A2-70 bolts.
A2-80 hex bolts possess similar corrosion resistance to A2-70 bolts and exhibit excellent strength, making them suitable for applications that require higher load-bearing capabilities. They find applications in critical environments such as offshore structures, chemical processing plants, and heavy machinery.
Both A2-70 and A2-80 stainless steel hex bolts have a standard hexagonal head, allowing for easy installation using a wrench or socket. They are available in various sizes and thread pitches to accommodate different requirements.
