Stainless Steel 316:
Stainless Steel 316 is made up of austenitic stainless steel having chromium in 16-18%, nickel in 10-14%, and molybdenum in 2-3%, which provides great resistance to corrosion making it perfect for applications in highly salty areas with caustic substances. The addition of molybdenum further enhances the protection from pitting and crevice corrosion. Stainless Steel 316Ti:
Stainless Steel 316Ti is a variation of Stainless Steel 316 which includes titanium to reduce the chance of chromium carbide precipitation in extreme temperatures and give better protection from corrosion. Although titanium is added to Stainless Steel 316Ti, it still preserves the same physical and mechanical properties of Stainless Steel 316, making it really reliable for uses where high heat and corrosion resistance are crucial.
Stainless Steel 316L:
Stainless Steel 316L has a maximum carbon concentration of 0.03%, which is lower than its counterpart Stainless Steel 316. This lower carbon level helps to stop carbide precipitation from occurring when welding and thus reduces the chance of intergranular corrosion. Additionally, this grade has great formability and weldability – qualities that make it fit for usage in different manufacturing activities. Stainless Steel 316L combines the advantages of stainless steel 316 – namely the high corrosion resistance and remarkable strength – which makes it generally used in fields that require outstanding corrosion resistance, such as drug manufacturing, food production, and the chemical industry.
